Small clean lines...

I've been determined to go for a pre-breakfast run for the last few days now but as luck would have it, I chose today when it was pissing down with rain!

Blue skies would have been so much nicer but at leas it was quiet and the dog poo had been washed away :)

Jnr was up at 5.30am anyway though so I figured it was my fate.

I ended up having a nice run down to and along Rest Bay to Pink Bay and back up through the fields past the golf course to home - around 3 miles through soft sand and up a few inclines and rocks to make it interesting.

It's nice to run over the reefs at low tide too and see where all the nooks and crannies are. You can see from the contours why certain sections hold up whilst others turn into unmakeable heaving barrels, unloading onto dry slabs.

Took me about 40 mins anyway and my legs are feeling a little heavier for it.

There were even some clean lines rolling through and I hesitated at one point and considered bolting home to grab a board...

If I'd had a longboard I probably would have gone in for a dip. No wind and clean 1 footers peeling along the shore.

The underlying period is okay currently - around 12.5 seconds. Now all we need is some proper ground swell. It's like having ice cream without the ice-magic...

Out west they've had a few small but clean days but we've been locked into a wave drought here in South Wales.

Fresh West yesterday:

The future isn't bright currently. There are a few weak lows down in Biscay which may send a few small pulses our way and a low pushes down from the north next Wednesday which might give us some respite.

In the meantime I'm trying to get fitter and get my pop up, back to where it used to be!

Northern Spain beckons....
